Frequently Asked Questions!
Here are some of the questions Kelly and me are asked frequently.
Also included are some that were so entertaining we thought we’d share!  :o)

Q:  Can I get something autographed by Kelly?

A:  Kelly generally tries to sign things for fans at shows but there are too many problems involved in having things sent to Kelly for an autograph.

Q:  What artists/industry professionals has Kelly worked with?

A:    Kelly has worked for, with and around tons of people in the entertainment industry.  The list is primarily musicians of course but he’s been involved in movie projects, producing albums for other artists and even has designed his own custom fretless bass.  This list can therefore only be considered partial.  I’ve included the actors who received music Kelly wrote for the movie they starred in to musicians Kelly worked with back in the day that have long since left the business.  I’m sure Kelly and I have understandably forgotten some folks . . . the list now stands at 134.  As we pinpoint gaps we’ll fill them in.  Kelly’s list includes (in alphabetical order):  Doug Aldrich, Carmine Appice, Robert Bailey, Jennifer Batten, Mike Bearb, Pat Bearb, Drake Bell, David Bellard, Scott Bender, Mickey Bernard, Seth “Sneef” Bernstein, Mark Boals, Chris Boardman, Mick Brown, Lance Bulen, Stef Burns, Vivian Campbell, Camus Celli, Maurice Chasse, Mike Clink, Alice Cooper, David Cremin, Steve Croes, Patrick Cupo, Mickey Curry, Wayne Curtis, Bob Daisley, Roger Daltrey, Guy Daniel, Spencer Davis II, Warren DeMartini, CC Deville, Don Dokken, Seymour Duncan, Elliot Easton, Keith Emerson, Ahmet Ertigan, David Faustino, Steve Fister, David Foster, Tony Franklin, Shane Gaalaas, Deborah Geffner, Paul Gilbert, Jeff Glixman, Lauren Graham, Greg Hall, Danielle Harris, Keith Harrison, Henry Justin, Iain Hersey, Phil Kaffel, John Kalodner, Caroline Keenan, Kenji Kitajima, Harold Knappenburger, Denny Laine, Lana Lane, Chuck Larrivierre, Louis Latchiolais, Howard Leese, John Levin, Kerry Livgren, Christopher Lloyd, Yngwie Malsteen, Richard Mann, Mick Mars, Ken Mary, Brian May, Corky McClellan, Hugh McDonald, Marco Mendoza, Vinnie Moore, Steve Morse, Ben Naff, Corin Nemec, Erik Norlander, John Norum, Ted Nugent, John Onder, Richie Onori, Tommy Osteen, Pagey, Tony Palmucci, Stuart Pankin, Mitch Perry, Claudio Pesavento, Kelly Jean Peters, Jeff Pilson, Doug Pinnick, Jack Ponti, Steve Priest, Rada, Jim Recor, Pat Regan, Gary Richrath, David Ripley, Stevie Salas, Richie Sambora, David Sarver, Joe Satriani, Michael Schenker, Pat Schick, Arlen Schierbaum, Don Schiff, Neal Schon, Steven Seagal, Licklaus Sigewall, Nikki Sixx, Slash, Stuart Smith, Gregg Sonnier, Barry Sparks, Marvin Sperling, Robert Stack, Bunny Summers, Mick Sweda, John Sykes, Ty Tabor, Troy Thibodeux, Steve Vai, Lizzy Valentine, Casper Van Dien, Deborah Van Valkenburgh, Ernst Van Ee, Mike Varney, Peer Verschuren, Karl Voorhies, Michael Wagener, Zach Ward, John Webster, Leslie West, Zakk Wilde, Ellis E. Williams, Jai Winding, Edgar Winter, Chuck Wright, Dweezil Zappa, Flint Zarrangue.

Q:  Are you planning on adding sound files?

A:  There are sound files on Kelly's EPK (Elecronic Press Kit)

Q:  I’d really like to get a copy of the Baton Rouge CD’s that are out of print.  Any suggestions?

A:  Absolutely!  There are almost always copies on EBAY.com available for sale.

Q:  Are Baton Rouge CD’s ever going to be re-released?

A:  We hope to be able to do that at some point.  What Kelly would really like to do is put out a “Best of” CD.  Unfortunately, since the first two albums were released by Atlantic Records, it may be a while before we can sort through the details.

Q:  I wrote to Kelly a few times and he was really cool and always answered me and now all of a sudden I haven’t heard from him!  Why?

A:  Kelly is genuinely interested in fan input and he enjoys taking the time to chat with you when he has time.  Kelly does have a very busy schedule however and sometimes he just doesn’t have time to answer all his mail.  Please just be patient and when he has time I’m sure he’ll answer you.  Do NOT get angry and demand a response.  That’s a sure way to not get one.  Kelly and other artists like him that give you the opportunity to speak with them directly deserve respect.  Please try to remember that they talk to a LOT of people, so just because they answer you several times or have a normal type of conversation with you does not mean they will remember everything you’ve discussed later nor does it mean they are your new best friend.  Kelly and others like him genuinely care, that’s why they take the time to talk to you but they can’t be everybody’s good friend.  They wish they could be . . . but it just isn’t possible.  Try to enjoy your conversations with them while keeping perspective on the situation.  I realize some folks will read this and wonder why that isn’t obvious to people.  Believe me, if it was obvious to EVERYBODY it wouldn’t be here.  :o)

Q:  OK, I’ve been patient and I STILL haven’t heard from Kelly!  WHY?

A:  Next rule of thumb . . . refer to the first rule.  If you’re not hearing from Kelly it just means he’s incredibly busy.  With Kelly or anybody else who is really busy it is generally a good idea to keep your notes short as possible and only address one thing at a time.  While “celebrities” understand that you would very much like for them to know all about you, they can’t possibly get to know thousands of fans on an intimate basis.  For example, instead of writing about every experience you had at a concert in 1990 when you saw his band maybe cut it down to (for example), “I saw you in Los Angeles in 1990 and you guys were great!  That was the day I met the woman who’s now my wife!  I just wanted to tell you I’ve bought all your albums since then and they all rock!”  I understand you would like to “tell the whole story” but realistically if you multiply your “whole story” by about a hundred more “whole stories” . . . you can see where that could become a problem.  So just be patient, ask one question or address one issue at a time, and go from there.

Q:  This site is great!  Can I help?

A:  Thank you for the offer!  I do work with a few web design professionals and this is only one of three sites I am involved in.  If you are a web design professional and wish to contribute something, please contact Denny at AvatarCommunications.net .  Please be specific about what it is you propose to contribute and be prepared to show examples of your work . . . preferably a prototype of, or something similar to, what you are proposing for Kelly’s site.  Please also be advised that while I am happy to credit contributors for their work I am not in the market to purchase your services, nor will you become a co-administrator on the site or have access to the site itself or passwords.  Work you do must be e-mailed to me or uploaded to a separate site of your choosing where it can be imported to my computer and uploaded to Kelly's site from there.  (And if you’re really a web design professional you know exactly how all that works.)  :o)  If you decide you want your work on Kelly’s site and it is accepted, it will expose your work to the public for viewing and I will be happy to provide a link to your own web site.  That is the only compensation you can expect.  I am being very specific here so that nobody contacts me with something that will ultimately be a waste of their valuable time.  Your interest IS appreciated!

Q:  What color are Kelly’s eyes?

A:  Green.

Q:  How tall is Kelly?

A:  5’11”

Q:  What’s Kelly’s favorite color?

A:  Blue or Green

Q:  What’s Kelly’s favorite food?

A:  Kelly is in to health food and prefers vegetarian dishes, chicken, whole foods, wheat grass juice, raw vegetables, pure water . . . I think you follow.

Q:  Is Kelly married?

A:  To his career, yes.  To a woman, no.

Q:  Do you think you could set Kelly and me up on a date?  I know he’d like me!

A:  First, you’re a woman, right?  Hee hee.  OK, I couldn’t resist . . . but Kelly IS all boy and he loves ladies.  However, I am not Kelly’s dating service nor do I put my nose in his personal business.  Kelly is a very private person.  He is also a very good friend and I respect his privacy.  I therefore won’t be able to tell you if I think he’d like you or if he’s seeing anybody right now or anything else about his private life.  It after all IS private.  Kelly does love ladies though . . . by that I mean LADIES.  So if you DO meet him, screaming at the top of your lungs and rushing him will NOT be an advisable tactic to get his attention!  :o)  Hope that helps!  :o)

I hope this helps answer many of the questions you have.  We’ll keep adding more as we pinpoint ones that are being . . . frequently asked!
